Mexico Medical Mission - Dr. Ismael Santillan

Dr. Ismael Santillan lives in Santa Maria, close to Monterrey, Mexico. He owns and directs a medical clinic where much of his care is donated and serves as a medical mission. Dr. Santillan is also involved with the Monterrey School of Preaching and additionally preaches in the local church. His earning in Santa Maria are minimal.

Every summer, Dr. Santillan travels back to the villages of the native Haustecans. The poorest of the poor, the Haustecans are located in the mountains of central Mexico with over 600 known tribes in the area. Dr. Santillan travels to the remote villages each summer to provide medical treatment and hold Bible studies (aided by the local preachers). Dr. Santillan is himself a native Huastecan who was able to escape the poverty of his youth through the hard work and dedication of his older brothers, including Salvador Santillan who served the Marble Falls congregation in the past. The Marble Falls church has been a partner with Dr. Santillan since 1996 and several of our members traveled to Mexico for the medical missions annually until the threat of the drug cartels curtailed this activity.
